Discover Godiva's Christmas range.

Last week, I was kindly invited to Godiva's Christmas range launch at the Café Godiva in Harrods.
I had the opportunity to sample their new collection of pralines that will be available in their different shops from November 8th.

Here's some pictures of their lovely chocolates and pralines.

In the ''Sapin" range, the chocolates are shaped like a Christmas tree and three different pralines are available.

  • The milky one with red lines is filled with an hazelnut praliné with cinnamon and ginger notes.
  • The milky one with white lines is filled with an almond praliné, honey and sea salt from the Guérande area in France. You can somehow taste pine tree in this one. Really Christmassy!
  • The white one is filled with a macadamia praliné flavoured with delicates notes of mandarin and fragant cardamom.

They also designed a kid range in which you find a teddy bear with its little chocolate box ( leave Teddy to the kids and eat the chocolates!!)

Or choose between one of this lovely chocolate figurines : Santa, a snow men, a reindeer or a gingerbread man. Or the traditional Advent Calendar.

If you're feeling like offering a sophisticated and luxurious gift to someone special, the Royal Swarovski Box coffret is made for you. This suede box is covered with Swarovski golden crystals forming the Lady Godiva emblem. Inside, a tray of delicate pralines is completed by a drawer full of single origins carrés.

Some of the lovely packaging designed for the Christmas range :

The launch took place in the Café Godiva, on the second floor of Harrods. If you haven't tried the place yet, stop by for a delicious hot chocolate and a naughty treat like their Molten lava cake or their Dark Chocolate Sin cake. Or maybe a chocolate dipping fondue?! So many tempting desserts to choose from !!!

I don't know if you've ever read about Lady Godiva's legend but I find it quite interesting and want to share it with you.

"When Lady Godiva, wife of Lord Leofric, protested against the taxation of his subjects a deal was struck : Lady Godiva would ride through the streets of Coventry, 'clad in naught but her long tresses', and if the population remained in shuttered buildings, their tax burden would be lifted. The following morning she made her famous ride, the citizens graciously stayed inside and Leofric kept his word and reduced the taxes. Lady Godiva won the hearts of many and her legend had continue to deepen throughout the centuries. '

Do you imagine this transposed to our time? :)
